National hockey league

This project was a self initiated case study inspired by my growing interest in watching hockey. After seeing a poorly executed 3D graphic during a national broadcast, I was motivated to prove that a strong and clean 10 second NHL promo could be done with better clarity and style.

I modeled and animated every element, created the motion graphics, and handled compositing in After Effects. The focus was on fast pacing, clean transitions, and bold visuals that match the energy of professional hockey broadcasts.

The creative direction leaned into a frosted, icy look, shifting away from my usual darker color palettes with heavy glows. The goal was to create something brighter, colder, and more in line with the feel of ice and speed.

The biggest challenge was changing my color palette and visual approach. Moving from dark tones to a cleaner white based look with frost effects required rethinking lighting, materials, and contrast. Through testing and refinement, I was able to create a promo that feels sharp, modern, and true to the sport.
